Overview
The Kinematics CommOptic Model 2163 provides a conversion from RS232 to RS422/485 with optically isolated transmit and receive circuits to eliminate noise problems associated with earth loops. The RS422/485 Protocol provides further noise immunity and increased transmission distance over conventional RS232.

•  220 to 240VAC Power supply (or 110 to 120VAC version)
•  Max Baud rate 19,200bps (76,800 bps on high speed versions)
•  RS232 connector 25 pin female DB25F
•  RS422/485 connector 9 pin male DB9P
•  Indicator LED's for transmit, receive and mode (ie. RS422 or RS485)
•  Mode selection by external links on the 9 pin DB9P connector
•  RS485 direction change by RTS or DTR
•  Provision for internal line termination
